O.G. Rebel - Crazy Horse

Another place we will be stopping is the Crazy Horse Memorial, in the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Today, on Britannica.com, Crazy Horse was the featured Autobiography of the Day.

The more I read about this attraction, the more interesting it gets. The sculpture was started in 1948 when Sculptor and Founder Korczak first put (literally) hammer to drill bit and blasted off the first ton of rock from the top of Crazy Horse's Head. The family who runs it has refused all government monies and insists on running the attraction on their own. Blasting continues to this day, and is announced on Twitter! The last one was Aug. 19. Maybe we will get lucky and be around at blast time. You can bet I will be following CrazyHorseMem on Twitter to see when the next explosion is taking place!

So much to do, so much to see!
